Sandra Sigler
Sandra Sigler is a shareholder of Sigler & Nelson LLC where her practice consists primarily of probate litigation, guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, bankruptcy law and matters arising from the financial exploitation of elders.
Sandra earned her law degree from Washburn University School of Law along with a Certificate in Business and Transactional Law. She served as an extern with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Kansas before practicing in Topeka, Kansas. Sandra returned to Colorado in 2013 and is an active member of the American, Colorado, Kansas, Denver Bar Associations and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). Sandra began her legal career in Kansas working as a trial attorney in insurance defense and worker’s compensation cases. Her background also includes experience in venture capital financing and as a registered lobbyist for the insurance industry.
Kayla Nelson
Kayla Nelson is a shareholder of Sigler & Nelson LLC. She represents clients in the areas of contested and uncontested guardianships and conservatorships, estate/probate administration and litigation, trust administration and litigation, fiduciary representation, elder law, and estate planning. Kayla also serves as guardian ad litem and court-appointed counsel in guardianship and conservatorship matters.
Kayla has worked with shareholder Sandra Sigler since 2018. Kayla began her legal career in the office of the 17th Judicial District Public Administrator, where she assisted with conservatorship and probate matters. Kayla is a member of the Elder Law Section, Trust & Estate Section, Spanish Speaking Lawyers Committee, and is the Co-Chair of the Elder Law Retreat Planning Committee of the Colorado Bar Association. She has also been a Board Member of Women’s Estate Planning Council.
Spencer Crona
Spencer Crona is Of Counsel with Sigler & Nelson LLC. Spencer is a Denver native, a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and practices principally in the areas of probate, estate and trust litigation, conservatorships and guardianships, probate review of personal injury settlements and estate administration.
Over the past 30 years, Spencer has published numerous articles in professional journals and news media, ranging from probate litigation to a variety of public policy issues. Through Spencer’s extensive involvement in the Elder Law and Trust & Estate Sections of the Colorado Bar Association, he has participated in the drafting of Colorado probate statutes, including statutory provisions for the Colorado Uniform Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Act, estate compensation of professionals, and determinations of death in a mass-casualty incident.
Sophia Alvarez
Sophia Alvarez is an Associate Attorney with Sigler & Nelson LLC, where she represents clients in matters involving guardianships, conservatorships, estate and trust administration, probate litigation, and estate planning.
Sophia grew up in Texas, where she learned to advocate and volunteer alongside her parents with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). These experiences helped form her lifelong passion for advocating for underserved and vulnerable populations. Sophia spent many years in private practice, working in several areas of the law: family law, juvenile law, criminal law, Social Security Administration benefits, bankruptcy and consumer law, housing law, immigration law, employment law, estate planning and mediation.
Sophia Boggs
Sophia Boggs is an Associate Attorney with Sigler & Nelson LLC, where she represents clients in matters involving estate and trust administration, probate litigation, estate planning, guardianships, and conservatorships. Sophia first joined Sigler & Nelson LLC as a law clerk during law school, gaining experience in complex probate and fiduciary issues and confirming her commitment to helping clients through some of life’s most difficult transitions.
In 2025, Sophia earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and was sworn in as a Colorado licensed attorney. Sophia holds a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Political Science from Colgate University. At Colgate, she was a four-year member of the NCAA Division I women’s soccer team — a formative experience in discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.
